Every applicant must read and sign to obtain membership (see application form)
“I agree to maintain Academy of Model Aeronautics (“AMA”) Membership (“full”) and to comply with the AMA Safety Code and those safety rules of the Scio Flyers Model Aviation Club (“Scio Flyers”). for all applicable model operations. I will not engage in radio-controlled model flight at either Scio Flyer, Inc. field or at a Scio Flyers sponsored event without a current AMA membership. I understand that written notice of any incident involving my use of a radio-controlled model aircraft must be immediately reported to the AMA and the officers of Scio Flyers.
I am aware that modeling may present hazards to participants, spectators and owners of adjacent property. As evidenced by my signature below, I hereby explicitly acknowledge that engaging in RC flight while attendees of Daycroft Montessori School are out of doors and visible from the Scio Flyers flying field is strongly discouraged by Scio Flyers, its officers, directors and members and that flying directly over the school during these times is strictly prohibited. In the event that I am engaged in RC flight while attendees of Daycroft Montessori School are out of doors and visible from the Scio Flyers flying field, I agree to make every reasonable effort to limit my flight so as to avoid proximity to the Daycroft Montessori School. I agree that I am solely responsible for any injury or damage involving the Daycroft Montessori School or its attendees. I agree to immediately report any incident or complaint involving the Daycroft Montessori School to the then acting Scio Flyers safety officer.
As evidenced by my signature below, I hereby waive, release and forever discharge the officers and members of Scio Flyers from all actual and potential claims, complaints, demands, causes of action, damages, costs, expenses, fees, and other liabilities of every sort and description, direct or indirect, fixed or contingent, known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, including, without limitation, claims based on pre-existing acts occurring at any time up to the date of this waiver which may result in future injury or damages arising out of, caused by, or in any way related to my negligent use of or interference with a radio controlled model aircraft.
I agree to indemnify the officers and members of Scio Flyers to the greatest extent allowed by law, against any and all liability resulting from suit or action arising from my negligent use or operation of a radio-controlled aircraft, including all costs and reasonable attorney fees incurred in defending against any suit or action arising from such negligent use.
I have read and fully understand this waiver and indemnification”.
By participating in club events, you grant the Scio Flyers permission to take and use photographs and videos of you for newsletters, website content, social media, promotional materials, and event documentation.
