Scio Flyers Mission

The Scio Flyers Model Airplane Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the educational and recreational aspects of model aviation. Our mission is to inspire and educate young people and adults alike in the fields of aeronautics, engineering, and teamwork through the building and flying of radio controlled   model aircraft, and to develop a premier flying site for all categories of radio controlled model aircraft

Scio Flyers is chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA)

All flyers at the field must be current AMA members and have signed the Club  Safety Waiver.

Scio Flyers Activities 

Educational Programs:

• We offer workshops and training sessions on model airplane assembly, maintenance, and flight dynamics.
• Our programs are designed to teach participants about aerodynamics, electronics, and programming for flight.
• We collaborate with local schools to integrate our programs into STEM curricula, providing hands-on learning experiences for students.

Community Engagement:

• The club organizes community events, such as model airplane shows and competitions, to engage the public and showcase the skills of our members.
• We partner with other local organizations to promote aviation education and awareness in the community.

Membership and Support:

• Membership is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
• We rely on membership dues, donations, and grants to fund our programs and activities.
