Scio Flyers Club  History

• The original founders of the Scio Flyers were Chuck Mckinnon and Dr. Jerry Butler. The club was formed in 1988 with the help of the Scio Township manager at the time.
  
• In 2010 the Scio Flyers incorporated and obtained its 501c7 status and also signed the first three year lease agreement with Scio Township.
  
• In 2011 the club re-organized the Board of Directors and added two additional Board of Directors.
  
• In 2013 the Scio Flyers lease agreement was extended for another three years.

Scio Flyers Club is chartered by the ACADEMY OF MODEL AERONAUTICS (AMA)

All flyers at the field must be current AMA members and have signed the Club  Safety Waiver.

Scio Flyers Club Vision

To be recognized as the best radio aircraft organization, professional in all that it does, to provide a medium for like-minded hobbyists, to gather for fellowship and sharing of information, and to provide a suitable site for the operation of radio controlled aircraft.

Scio Flyers Club  Goals 

1. Develop a premier flying site for all categories of radio controlled model aircraft.
   
2. Develop community service activities employing the talents and resources available within the Club.
   
3. Maintain a positive relationship with the neighbors of the flying site.
   
4. Encourage anyone interested in radio control model aircraft and provide flight training if necessary.
   
5. Promote the hobby of radio-controlled aircraft through Club sponsored activities
   
6. Provide activities and events to enhance the camaraderie and interest of Club members.
   
7. Sustain the Club financially to sufficiently support these goals.
