Scio Township in partnership with the Scio Flyers have generously provided our club with a great flying site.   Our club is informal where our key goal is to learn through model aviation. We follow the Academy of Model Aeronautics safety code and all who fly at our field are required to have AMA membership.  We welcome everyone to join us in this fantastic hobby.

Upcoming events:

March 21, 2026: Annual Membership Meeting
The Annual Membership Meeting is held each year at the Scio Township Hall, bringing our club community together to elect board officers for the upcoming term and hear important updates on club operations, field maintenance, upcoming events, youth programs, and other key activities. This gathering gives members the opportunity to stay informed, ask questions, offer ideas, and take an active role in shaping the direction of the club for the year ahead. The meeting begins at 1:00 pm.

April 18, 2026: Field Opening
The field opening is our annual kickoff to the flying season, bringing members together to prepare the field for safe and enjoyable operations throughout the year. Volunteers help with tasks such as setting up equipment, inspecting the flying area, completing light maintenance, and making sure everything is ready for upcoming club activities and events. It’s a great opportunity to reconnect after the winter, lend a hand, and start the season with a strong sense of teamwork and community. We’ll get started at the field at 10:00 am

Visitors are Welcome

When the weather is nice on any given day you will likely find someone flying at the Scio Flyers Air Field. Visitors are welcome to come out and watch our members fly their models. We encourage all visitors to take a closer look at the models and ask questions.  Our members fly a wide variety of model aircraft from micro to large. Among the aircraft flown in the club are gas and electric powered scale models of full size aircraft, sailplanes, aerobatic planes, helicopters, and Multi-Rotors. Many of our members design and build their own models and are full size aircraft Pilots.
